Wandell is launching Kismet, a Los Angeles-based production company focusing on high-end scripted series with global appeal. Before his Apple stint, he was a big name at Amazon Studios and ABC Studios, so he’s got a serious track record. This move comes after the recent exit of Oliver Jones, who jumped ship to Amazon MGM Studios. Seems like it’s all change over at Apple TV.
With Wandell’s exit, Matt Cherniss, known for his work on hits like The Studio and Ted Lasso, will pick up the reins for shows previously under Wandell. Meanwhile, Jay Hunt, Apple’s Creative Director for Europe, is expanding her role to manage international originals. This could mean fresh content for Apple TV’s already impressive lineup, which includes series like Severance and The Morning Show.
