Great news for PC gamers: you can now enjoy all the cool features of the PlayStation DualSense controller without being tethered to a cable. This is all thanks to a nifty update to the DSX app. However, there’s a catch—you’ll need to shell out a bit of cash for this convenience.
The DualSense controller, famous for its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, has always required a cable to work its magic on PC. But, with the DSX app’s latest update, those days are over. This update, spotted by Digital Foundry, adds the ability to use haptics and Bluetooth audio wirelessly, effectively creating a “Virtual DualSense” for your PC. It’s a handy solution while we wait for Sony to release an official dongle—if they ever do.
To get started, you’ll need the DSX app from Steam, plus its DSX+ DLC. It’s not exactly cheap, with the main app priced at £7.15/$8 and the DLC at £3.59/$4. But hey, if you’re already investing in SanDisk’s new high-priced PS5 SSDs, this might not be too much of a stretch.
Keep an eye on updates for DSX, especially if you’re keen to maintain full functionality of your DualSense on PC. And if you’re looking to expand your gaming experience further, check out the latest Xbox Game Pass titles for even more gaming options.
