Updating your Apple TV just got a whole lot easier, thanks to iOS 27, and it’s a game-changer for the tech-savvy couch potatoes among us. With the latest update, you can now install Apple TV software updates directly through the Home app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. No more shuffling to the TV set every time there’s an update!

This nifty feature, highlighted by Aaron Perris on social media, makes staying current with tvOS as simple as a few taps on your phone. It’s akin to updating your HomePod software, and we are all for this added convenience. While auto-updates exist, we all know they’re not always the most reliable. So, this manual option is a welcome fallback.

Currently, iOS 27 is in the beta phase, available to developers, with the public beta set for July and a full release later in the fall. In the meantime, if you’re looking for more ways to streamline your streaming, check out how to stop Netflix’s ‘Are You Still Watching?’ prompt.

Keep an eye out for the public beta in July if you’re eager to test-run this feature. And, of course, stay tuned for more updates!
