WhatsApp Usernames Coming: Reserve Yours Now

Heads up, WhatsApp users! Usernames are finally making their way to the app, and it’s time to snag yours before they disappear. This new feature is rolling out over the coming months, but you can start reserving your username right now.

WhatsApp is letting users reserve their preferred usernames starting this week. This is great news, especially if you want to keep things consistent across your social media accounts by using your existing Instagram or Facebook username. With over three billion users on WhatsApp, it’s wise to claim your spot early to avoid missing out on your ideal username.

Setting up your username is easy. Just head to Settings > Account > Username, or find it in your Profile settings. While the feature hasn’t shown up in the latest WhatsApp for Android update yet, keep an eye on your app over the next few days for the reservation option to pop up.

Once usernames officially launch, they’ll become your default identifier, so your contacts won’t see your phone number anymore. But remember, to start a chat, you’ll need the exact username match. For more on how apps are evolving, check out the latest about Android apps.

Keep your app updated and be on the lookout for the username reservation feature rolling out soon. Happy username hunting!
