Get ready, console gamers! GTA 6 is making its grand entrance this November on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but PC players will have to wait a bit longer. The head honcho at Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, recently chatted with Bloomberg about why Rockstar tends to give consoles first dibs.
According to Zelnick, Rockstar aims to serve their ‘core’ audience first, which means consoles are their primary focus. This isn’t new for Rockstar fans, as they followed a similar path with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, launching on consoles before hitting PC. While it’s a bummer for PC gamers, console players can enjoy early access and all the PS5 marketing hype.
Interestingly, Zelnick mentioned that PC sales could account for up to 50% of their big title sales, which makes the wait a bit puzzling. But hey, historically Rockstar has always gone console-first, and it’s all about serving their most loyal fans. Xbox Series X/S owners have nothing to worry about either, as Rockstar ensures their games run smoothly across platforms.
