Kratos fans, rejoice! Santa Monica Studio is making it clear that the iconic God of War hero isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. In a recent chat on PlayStation’s YouTube, the studio’s creative boss, Cory Barlog, assured fans that there are “many more stories to tell” with Kratos, even as they gear up for the release of God of War Laufey.

While PlayStation’s State of Play gave us our first glimpse of Laufey, reactions have been mixed. Some fans are pumped about the new game’s combat and visuals, while others miss having Kratos at the center. But don’t worry, Kratos makes a few appearances alongside Faye, and the studio promises he’s still a huge part of the franchise’s future.

Excitingly, Santa Monica Studio also teased a remake of the classic God of War Greek trilogy, bringing Kratos back into the spotlight. The trilogy, which began back in 2005, is still in early development stages, so keep your eyes peeled for updates. In the meantime, check out everything else that was announced at the State of Play showcase.

Stay tuned for more Kratos adventures and keep an eye out for any new updates on the trilogy remake!
