YouTube’s at it again with redesigns, and this time it might make your thumbs work a little harder. They’re testing a new mobile app layout that moves the trusty Subscriptions tab from the bottom to the top of the screen. Why does this matter? Well, if you’re used to quick access, this change could throw you off a bit.
So, what’s happening? Some users have noticed that the Subscriptions tab, normally part of the bottom navigation, has been shifted up to a secondary menu near the app’s logo. Alongside the usual filters like “Music” and “New to You,” there’s now an extra “Home” tab and, of course, the relocated Subscriptions button. This change might affect how you interact with your favorite channels, especially on those tall smartphones.
YouTube confirms this is just an experiment, so not everyone will see it. If you’re in this test group, you’ll notice these tweaks. There’s also talk of a new “Create” label, hinting at potential AI tools in the app. But for now, it’s mostly about moving things around, which might not appeal to everyone. If you’re a regular on YouTube, don’t panic just yet. Keep an eye on things, and if you’re part of the test, let YouTube know what you think.
