Twitch is stepping up its game with a new feature that lets creators stream in both horizontal and vertical formats at the same time. This is awesome news if you enjoy watching streams on both your desktop and mobile devices.
Announced at TwitchCon Rotterdam 2026, the Dual Format feature is designed to make viewing more flexible and fun. It means that you’ll see a full-screen vertical view on mobile, and the classic horizontal view on desktop. If you flip your phone, the view adjusts, keeping things smooth and easy. Plus, Twitch is rolling out server-side transcoding to help keep everything running well.
But that’s not all. Twitch is also launching 2K streaming for partners and affiliates, with higher bitrates for crisper video. Mid-stream summaries will help you catch up if you join late, and new GIFs in chat are coming for Tier 2 and 3 subscribers. Creators can also look forward to Auto Clips, which automatically turns epic moments into shareable clips, making it easier than ever to share highlights in Twitch Stories.
Keep an eye out for these updates dropping next month, and get ready to enjoy a whole new way of watching and streaming on Twitch!
