PS5 Sales Drop in UK, Xbox Nearly Catches Up

Big news for gamers in the UK as PlayStation 5 saw a major dip in hardware sales last month, while Xbox almost closed the gap. This matters because it shows a shift in the console landscape, especially with the Xbox Series X/S facing a tough year overall.

According to industry analyst Christopher Dring, PS5 sales plummeted by a surprising 50% in May, barely maintaining its lead over Xbox by just 400 units. The launch of Forza Horizon 6 gave Xbox a much-needed boost, increasing their sales by 12%. The open-world driving game, which has been a hit on Xbox, is also coming to PS5 later this year – likely bringing a surge in sales when it drops.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch 2 continues its reign as the top-selling console in the UK, showcasing impressive numbers and reaching 1 million units sold in record time. While PlayStation’s exclusive Saros didn’t do much to boost PS5 sales, the console wars are far from over.

Keep an eye out for upcoming releases and sales trends, as the gaming landscape is constantly changing. It might be a good time to score some hot deals on games while keeping tabs on new console launches.
