Call of Duty fans, brace yourselves: the Black Ops 1 and 2 re-releases on PlayStation are losing some of their classic features. If you’re wondering why this matters, these features were part of what made the originals so beloved.
Spotted by ForwardLeaks, the Trophy lists reveal that Black Ops 1 is dropping Wager Matches and Theater Mode, while Black Ops 2 says goodbye to League Play. Wager Matches were a fan-favorite, letting players risk CoD Points in modes like Gun Game. Without these, the PS5 experience might feel a bit less nostalgic for those who remember the good ol’ days of Call of Duty.
The absence of Theater Mode in Black Ops 1 is particularly disappointing, as it allowed players to relive their best gaming moments. While these re-releases are just ports, not remasters, the lack of native PS5 support means no fancy 120Hz or haptic feedback. As we await more info from Activision, keep an eye out for any updates on these re-releases. You never know, maybe they’ll surprise us with some features making a comeback!
