Is a New Apple TV 4K Finally on the Horizon?

It looks like the Apple TV 4K might break a record that no one really wants to see. The current model, launched in 2022, is on the verge of becoming the longest-running version of the device without an update. But there’s hope on the horizon! Word on the street is that Apple has a shiny new version ready, possibly waiting for an AI update with tvOS 27 dropping this fall.

If no new Apple TV 4K launches by July 4, the 2022 model will surpass the original 2017 version, which held the record for the longest run between updates. As of now, it’s been 1,304 days since the last release. Meanwhile, Apple keeps enhancing the current model with fresh features, much like Spotify’s constant updates for its apps.

For those eager for an upgrade, the wait feels even longer considering the rapid update from the second to the third-gen Apple TV 4K in just over 500 days. At least the current version is more budget-friendly, which is a small win if we’re stuck with it for a while. Keep an eye out for updates, and maybe check out how TikTok is evolving while you’re at it!
