Spotify is shaking things up with its new experimental app, ‘Studio,’ which uses your personal data to create AI-generated podcast episodes. This new feature could change the way we consume content by turning passive listening into a more interactive experience.
Unveiled during Spotify’s ‘Investor Day,’ ‘Studio’ is a desktop app that uses your listening habits to craft personalized podcasts based on your prompts. With your permission, it can dive deeper, accessing your calendar, notes, and emails to tailor content just for you. It’s like having a personal podcast assistant that can give you a daily brief or a road trip mix specifically for your destination. This isn’t Spotify’s first venture into AI, but it’s certainly the most personal yet, similar to how YouTube’s new AI tools are transforming content.
Spotify isn’t alone in this space. NotebookLM launched a similar concept with Audio Overviews, focusing on research and education. Meanwhile, Huxe, an AI assistant with constant access to your email and calendar, offers daily briefings much like Google’s AI Studio does for app creation. Spotify’s ‘Studio’ is set to roll out in beta for users 18 and up across 20+ regions in the coming weeks.
Keep your eyes peeled for this rollout and consider how personalized podcasts might fit into your daily routine!
