If you love multitasking with YouTube’s picture-in-picture (PiP) mode, you might be in for a surprise. YouTube’s PiP mode is acting up on both Android and iPhone, leaving users puzzled as they find their favorite feature missing.
Instead of getting the handy floating player, users are only hearing audio in the background when exiting the app. Most complaints are from iOS users, but some Android folks are also affected. Unfortunately, even with YouTube’s team actively investigating since the issue flared up Friday, there’s been no fix as of Saturday.
YouTube had been rolling out PiP globally for free users, so this hiccup is a bit of a bummer. If you’re encountering this, keep an eye on YouTube’s Help thread for updates. In the meantime, if you’re an Android user, maybe you can explore some app deals to pass the time!
Stay tuned for updates and hopefully a quick fix soon!
